Who we are
Officially, Kanzler Vineyards is a partnership between, Steve Kanzler, Lynda Kanzler and Greg Stach. In reality, Greg is like a member of the family and we consider ourselves a small family-run operation.
The Kanzlers came to Sonoma County in 1992 and purchased the land that became Kanzler Vineyard in 1993. Steve’s background is as an executive in information technology. Lynda is a graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. Steve oversees the vineyard and business. Lynda is Kanzler Vineyard's Chief Financial Officer. Their two children, Melissa Kanzler Grant and Alex Kanzler are also involved in promoting and marketing the wine.
Winemaker Greg Stach originally received a degree in journalism from Cal State University at Fresno. However, Greg discovered his true passion was wine after working as a sommelier at restaurants in Reno and Fresno. He then went back to school and earned a degree in Enology from Fresno State, graduating in 2001. Aside from being Winemaker at Kanzler Vineyards, Greg is currently Associate Winemaker for Landmark Winery and Vineyards in Kenwood, CA.
