Cola, olallieberry, dusty cedar and mineral notes give this a tight, narrow range of flavors, but they slowly unravel, offering dried currant, blueberry, plum and sage. Full-bodied, ending with chewy, minerally tannins and a splash of cola. Drink now through 2016. -- J.L.

Medium-light to medium-ruby color; attractive, floral, cherry and strawberry fruit aroma with overtones of vanilla; medium-full to full body; rich, plush, ripe cherry fruit flavors; well-balanced and structured; medium-full tannins, lingering aftertaste. Very enjoyable to drink now, though will benefit from a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 90 Points.

($48) Deep red. Smoky black raspberry and cherry aromas display good ripeness and depth, with baking spices and fresh flowers adding energy. Fleshy red and dark berry preserve flavors are chewy and palate-staining, gaining energy and spicy lift on the close. Light, youthful tannins add grip to the persistent, sappy finish. Offers a deft balance of richness and lift, in a decidedly New World mold. (JR) 90 points.
